Reducing the environmental footprint - One step at a time
Noel Asmar has been reshaping fashion for equestrians since 2011 when she created her Award-Winning All-Weather Rider Jacket. Known for defining a modern approach to equestrian style, in and out of the ring™, the designer from Vancouver, Canada is a pioneer of elegant, thoughtful, and purpose-driven riding apparel.
While keeping premium quality as our main focus, we continue to push our boundaries to deliver the style and comfort you love while utilizing more sustainable fabrics. Sustainable design and production is a thoughtful process that involves many stages from the vision for a season to selecting & sourcing the best quality materials with the least environmental impact available. We are continuously educating ourselves and networking with suppliers around the world to understand how each decision affects our environmental footprint.
Our collections for women, men, and children all boast technical riding tops with UPF50 Sun protection using fabric woven from recycled water bottles to produce our signature technical T-shirt collections. Asmar Equestrian has diverted over 350,000 plastic water bottles from ending up in landfills. The result? Empowering, comfortable, and sustainable equestrian wear that is designed especially for riders.
According to Noel Asmar, the founder of Asmar Equestrian, sustainability, great design, and good business go hand in hand. “It’s a stride that’s necessary for the well-being and growth of our planet,” says Noel Asmar. Optimizing the use of raw materials is one of the primary concerns for the fashion industry.
At Noel Asmar Group, we have embarked on a journey of sustainability that takes humility and long-term commitment. While the journey towards sustainability isn’t typically easy, we believe it is more critical than ever now to learn and embrace every opportunity to grow sustainably.
Our SS21 sustainable collection includes sun shirts and our best-selling Asmar logo tees that are made from 100% recycled polyester. The use of recycled polyester minimizes soil contamination, water and air pollution, and energy consumption significantly more than virgin polyester.
The recycled fabric is treated with a biodegradable & sustainable agent i.e. ChitoSanté which provides the customer with UPF50 sun protection and blocks 50% of UV radiation exposure. ChitoSanté is registered under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide ACT of U.S.A. It is used to combine the woven fabric’s advanced performances with good durability. This ensures that our sustainable collection is breathable, 100% recyclable, durable, fast-drying, anti-bacterial, odor-resistant, pill-resistant, moisture-wicking, and hygienic.
Asmar Equestrian products are high quality and designed to last. As part of our ongoing efforts to embed sustainability into our business core, our goal is to offer sustainable fabrics across every collection by 2023.
